Geolocation Testing
There are numerous free and paid tools online that allow you to test your website's performance around the globe. It's beneficial to use these performance tests on your website to identify any problematic images, files or scripts.
Dotcom-Tools
Dotcom-Tools tests your website's performance in 25 locations around the world for free. It tests each location twice. The first test mimics what a visitor would experience viewing your website for the first time. Site load time may be slightly delayed as the browser downloads images for the first time.
The second test illustrates the support of browser caching in speeding up your website's load time. In the image to the left, some first-time loads took more than 20 seconds, which dropped to below two seconds on the second load.

Pingdom
Pingdom allows you to test your website from a single location at a time. It leverages Google's PageSpeed performance grade to rate your website and compare it to worldwide averages.
Pingdom specifically illustrates each way your website can improve. Some changes it suggests can't be addressed on your website (for example, removing query strings from resources). However, most suggestions are able to be changed by you (for example, decreasing image sizes).
